Available as freeware with no purchase required, the download, while slightly longer than typical, completed without issues. Crimson Text Editor for Mac did not contain any instructions, which, in light of the complicated menus and options, would have been helpful. There did appear to be support for program updates.
The program's cluttered interface, full of buttons with no onscreen direction, practically begged us to visit the Help file. Luckily, while there, we discovered a wizard that walked us through the process and made Crimson Text Editor much less confusing. The program required us to do a lot of prep work before we even wrote a word. However, we quickly learned that setting up databases of characters, settings, and scenes helped us down the Crimson Text Editor. Once we started filling out our chapter outlines and inputting the bulk of our text, we simply pulled the aforementioned people and places from their database to help create a heading that laid out the scene. Once chapters were written, we could Crimson Text Editor and drag their order and content around with ease. The only thing this program sorely lacked was a spell-check option. Crimson Text Editor really hit its stride with its storyboard feature. This took all the character, location, and story information and created a flowchart that allowed us to see the dramatic peaks and valleys of our writing.
Crimson Text Editor is an add-in that connected to the operating systems Crimson Text Editor and used as a minimal Crimson Text Editor to manage your Crimson Text Editor notes. Crimson Text Editor is special by being a dependent application that added to your system, and by that becomes an inseparable part of Microsoft operating system.

Placing watermarks on your images adds a professional touch as well as copyright protection. Crimson Text Editor aims to make it easy to add text or image watermarks to your pictures one at a time or in batches. It's not the most attractive program we've tested, but it performed its job well.
